Tree Nets

In a bid to resolve the perennial problem of leaves on the line, Network Rail has been placing 'tree nets' over trackside foliage. "I got the idea one evening after seeing my wife putting on a hairnet as she got ready for bed," said chief engineer Rodney Boiler. The company also plans to dye yew trees blonde and put weeping willows in curlers. Nobody knows why.
